Gathered by Grace is a community of faith, based in Montgomery, Alabama and engaging across the country virtually, gathered by Christ, growing spiritually, serving our community, getting to know our neighbor, welcoming all, and sharing the Good News of Jesus.
Sweet Blessings
We were glad to answer the call from Wares Ferry Elementary School Assistant Principal Deborah King Johnson to offer a sweet treat to their awesome faculty and staff for Teacher’s Appreciation Week! We are grateful for their work!
Nourishing Bodies,
Inspiring Souls
Gathered by Grace Body and Soul Ministry, open to the community, is a holistic ministry offering spiritual nourishment, physical fitness classes, and health education. Together, we focus on wellness in every aspect of our lives.
Walking Together
Gathered by Grace co-hosted Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, a purpose party designed to raise awareness about domestic violence. The purpose party was in partnership with Women of Refined Gold and BeYouTiFul Boutique. We were glad to sponsor delicious refreshments from Alanna’s Gourmet.
Providing Support and Empowering Success
In meeting with Lanier High School Principal Joseph Roberson, Gathered by Grace’s Pastor Tiffany Chaney and Lay Ministry Coordinator Elizabeth Williams learned of a need for both belts for boys to go in their student clothes closet and professional dress clothes for students to wear for mock and real job interviews. Gathered by Grace was able to provide both boys belts and professional dress clothes for students.
Bringing Hope and Healing
As we navigate Covid-19, Gathered by Grace provided Covid Care Bags to Montgomery’s Homeview Community. In total, 500 face coverings, 100 bottles of hand sanitizer, and 100 mini first aid kits were distributed along with voting and Census information, snacks, water, and more. We’re grateful to our community partners who contributed to this effort: Homeview Life Center, Baptist Health, Rollin to the Polls Voting Initiative, and Beta Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Spreading the Joy of Reading
Gathered by Grace established has established three Little Libraries for west Montgomery. Thanks to a Community Grant from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Beta Nu Omega Chapter, Gathered by Grace set up Little Libraries at McIntyre Community Center and the West End Boys and Girls Club.
Our third Little Library at Homeview Life Center. Our community partners at Turenne PharMedCo gave the gift of reading by donating books for this new library and Christ Lutheran Church, Prattville gave donations to help purchase the library. We look forward to continuing to give the gift of reading!
Answering Hurricane Harvey’s Call
Following Hurricane Harvey, Gathered by Grace raised funds to donate diapers and supplies for the Houston Diaper Bank. Partnering with Turenne PharMedCo, a long-term healthcare business in Montgomery, Gathered by Grace donated 1,772 diapers and 68 packs of wipes. Turenne donated the shipping costs to transport the items across the country.

During the 2016-2017 school year, Gathered by Grace had the privilege of giving 742 books, worth $5,500, to the classrooms and libraries of young adult educators at 10 Montgomery schools, grades
K-12. We are thankful to All Stars Helping Kids for the grant funding that allowed us to impact our community in such a special way.
